From a new AD in Australia, which takes effect on Friday, and which would
have been derived from a French AD:

".... a further report of a wing in-flight structural failure. Spar
inspections in accordance with Avion Mudry & Cie Service Bulletin No. 15
Revision 1, and the wing covering inspection in accordance with Cap Aviation
Service Bulletin 990501 do not appear to have been effective in detecting
defects in the wing structure. Hence, aircraft may contain defects which
remain undetected by these inspection methods. The Type Certificate holder
is developing a further inspection to detect defects in the wing structure."

1. The airspeed for positive and negative snap (flick) manoeuvres must never
exceed 160 kph IAS (86 kts).

2. Flight Envelope is to be restricted to +5g and –3g

3. Install a placard in clear view of the pilot stating:

MAXIMUM AIRSPEED FOR FLICK OR SNAP MANOEUVRES IS 86 KTS (160 KPH) IAS.
FLIGHT ENVELOPE IS RESTRICTED TO +5G AND –3G

4. If either of these limits are exceeded, the aircraft must not be flown
until cleared by the Type Certificate holder. If either limit is exceeded,
contact the Type Certificate holder (CAP Aviation, 9 rue de l’Aviation,
21121 DAROIS, FRANCE, Fax +33 3 80 35 65 15, Email:
airworthiness at apex-aircraft.com)

A reminder to pilots of other types - treat the recommended speed for snaps
as the maximum speed for snaps!

Regards,
Dave Pilkington
