Mr. Daley, your destruction of Miegs Field has been a wake up call to the pilots of America. As Americans we are given the right to make choices and to speak as we wish. These are just some of the freedoms that the men and women of our Armed Forces are fighting for today. I read with much interest the many letters that are sent your way condeming your rude and cowardly behavior. Your tactics resemble more those of the Iraqi Republican Guard than that of an elected official, greeting us with open arms and then gunning us down. How disrespectful you have treated the people that you have given your word to. You have hidden under the guise of "homeland security" and secured a field that would better suit your needs than to be used as the airport that you had "promised." The small delight that you received today has brought you dishonor. We as humans are judged on the words we speak and in keeping those words. We have heard you loud and clear and see the man that you are and will go forth better people because of it. Your actions have been seen by all Americans and will not be forgotten. Your short sitedness is over shadowed by your lack of good judgement and the negative impact that your actions will will bring.
