The following is submitted for a friend of mine who is not a subscriber to this email exploder. I was appalled to read Joshua Ramo's contribution to Sports Illustrated. Like most aerobatic pilots, I live in the real world, a world where keeping aerobatic practice areas and competition boxes open requires constant effort to overcome obstacles thrown up by folks on the ground and interfering FAA types. Now along comes this vainglorious adolescent pandering to the worst fears of the uninformed. What a load of nonsense. In thirty-five years of hanging around pilots, I have never met one so ready to drop the hammer on aviation to gain his fifteen minutes of fame. Perhaps the greatest irony is that the guy writes pretty well, evidence of the distance that can separate style from substance. It takes intelligence to survive in any kind of flying. From the evidence, Ramo may not be with us long. What a dummy. Michael Church <mc at sunriseaviation.com> Attachement 1: part2.html
