So, could I fly intermediate for a patch and Sportsman for a trophy? It
doesn't sound like it. The thought is that I am flying a Decathlon that is
capable of doing the intermediate known, but probably not competitive. I
would have to give up a shot at the sportsman trophies to get an
intermediate patch. More so, if I did it in Arizona I would give up my
chance in the annual Sportsman standings for the sake of one contest.

I think you have made it clear. I often thought the one design would be hard
to get going if it had it's own sequence. I like the idea that you stated
above. It does somehow seem a little odd that pilots in several classes
would be competing against each other for the One Design trophy. Does
anybody know if the One Design articles that were in Sport Aviation were the
same articles that were in Sport Aerobatics? If not I might order the back
issues of Sport Aerobatics.
Thanks, Woody
