Sorry - I misread your post. There is nothing wrong with putting the
battery on a trickle charge while it is in the aircraft. However, if
you're flying it on a regular basis, and the battery needs charging often,
its time for a new one.

Subject: [IAC] Battery Charging

Hi All,
Looking for some advice on keeping my Pitts's battery ready to go in the
winter. Any recommendations on using a trickle charger or just a low
charger on the battery all the time? I'm wondering if this is a bad idea
i.e. fire hazard.
Also, if the master switch is off, is there any harm charging with the
battery still in the aircraft and hooked up?

Thanks, Larry Willson
