Message:

The five category, 2001 Ohio Aerobatic Open takes wing on Saturday June 16th,
at
7:30 am with the pilots' briefing for all categories. This year we will be
running a two
day contest to give more pilots the chance to get to the contest and compete.
We hope to start flying at 8:00 am and utilize the entire day Saturday.

The box opens for practice flights at 10:00am on Thursday, June 14, and will
remain
available for practice until 5:00pm Friday, June 15. Registration and tech
inspections begin Thursday, the 14th. Registration will remain open until
9:00pm on Friday to accommodate late arrivals Friday evening.
All categories will brief 0730 Saturday morning and Basic pilots will fly
twice,
if at all possible. The contest will finish by 1500 EDT Sunday, June 17th.

Your dinners are FREE on Friday courtesy of our sponsor Bolton Flying
Service.
An awards banquet Saturday night is $15 and is held right on the field for
your convenience, no need to bring extra clothes! For lunch, JP's Ribs
restaurant, is located on the field in addition to other restaurants within
a 5 to 10 minute drive of the airport.

If you've never been to a contest before, make the Ohio Open your first and
we'll lead you through the process every step of the way.

GETTING THERE

The contest is at Bolton Field (TZR), a NFT controlled airport on the
southwest side of Columbus, Ohio, outside the CMH Class C airspace. Just
dial KTZR into your navigator and give the tower a call on 128.1 when you
arrive. AWOS is 135.925.

If you are driving, use your internal navigation system to position
yourself on the I-270 beltway and turn the proper direction to head for the
southwest quadrant. From I-270, take Exit 5, Georgesville Road, and head
west. Past a large Toyota dealer on your right and at the next light (the
end of Georgesville Road), turn left (south) on Norton Road. Pass through
one traffic light and the airport entrance will be on your left.
