The four category, 2002 Ohio Aerobatic Open takes wing on Saturday August
17th, at
7:30 am with the pilots' briefing for all categories. This year we will be
running a two
day contest to give more pilots the chance to get to the contest and compete.
We hope to start flying at 8:00 am and utilize the entire day Saturday.

The box opens for practice flights at 10:00am on Thursday, August 15th, and
will remain
available for practice until 5:00pm Friday, August 16th. Registration and
tech
inspections begin Thursday, the 15th. Registration will remain open until
9:00pm on Friday to accommodate late arrivals Friday evening.
All categories will brief 0730 Saturday morning and Primary pilots will fly
twice, and a 3rd Sportsman flight will be scheduled. The contest will finish
by 1500 EDT Sunday, August 15th.

As a new feature this year, chapter 34 has access to a Super Decathlon and
safety pilot for primary aerobatic training. This aircraft is also scheduled
to be available for use at the 2002 Ohio Aerobatic Open. For rates and
availability please call Phil Gasbarro at (740) 392-4950 or (740) 390-0555.

Hangar space will be available on a first come first serve basis at Bolton
Flying Service,
and Columbus State Community College prices are TBA.

Your dinners are FREE on Friday courtesy of our sponsor Bolton Flying
Service.
A banquet Saturday night is $15 and is held right on the field for
your convenience, no need to bring extra clothes! For lunch, JP's Ribs
restaurant, is located on the field in addition to other restaurants within
a 5 to 10 minute drive of the airport.

If you've never been to a contest before, make the Ohio Aerobatic Open your
first and
we'll lead you through the process every step of the way.

This year we are going to charge one registration fee for all categories
Primary through Advanced.
The registration fee will be $70.00
