My reply to the EAA, anybody who disagrees? -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Class B Date: Wed, 03 Oct 2001 19:47:46 +0200 From: postema <hans.postema at cern.ch> To: govt at eaa.org By now it should be clear to every pilot that the class B restriction is not based on rational or technical aspects. Let's therefore concentrate on the psychological aspects. Uncontrolled flight probably sounds very dangerous to the general public including the general politician. Therefore I would suggest to declare the the areas under class B to CVFR zones. (Controlled Visual Flight Rules) This class existed some years ago, at least in Europe. This could be a headline that makes the general public feel safe. For apparent ground safety it could be an option to invite some militairy on the fields. Most aeroclubs or FBOs would happily support two coffee drinking GIs if that would assure normal flight operations. Again, to the general public this might make the difference. Best regards, Hans.
