It would seem that whatever combination of cushions and chute that works would be ok. That being said, we went from a chair pack to a Softie "wedge" backpack chute in our S-2B (and later S-2C) and loved the comfort factor (great lumbar support!). After I had some problems with full rudder deflection under hard negative G (like during the outside of a roller), I added a second cushion behind the lower half of my back. It still alllowed full back stick, but got me the extra 1/4" of rudder deflection I was looking for plus a very comfortable semi-reclining position to boot. Maybe the best advice is to try as many combinations of borrowed chute and thin cushions (with "firm" foam) to find your particular magic combination. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
