Once again I find myself turning to those who have gone before me.

To all those Pitts (and engine) gurus out there:

How long does an O-360 last that regularly sees operation in the 3100 - 3200
rpm range during acro?

I'm looking at a Pitts S-1S that has 700 SMOH. Compression checks were 77-78
back in 1997. Gradual reduction over the years to 74-75 on last annual
(recent). Current and previous owner use synthetic oil and change it every
10-15 hours. The engine is parallel valve design.

If I use this airplane for sport flying how much more time could I expect out
of the engine before it needs a major overhaul? Does anybody know of a Pitts
S-1S with an engine still going strong at, say 1300 hrs?

Thanks in advance for all the folks who reply. This is such a FANTASTIC way
to exchange information. I really appreciate the generosity of those who have
responded to all my other questions!
