  include different modes and entry from a multitude of attitudes.
For non-aerobatic pilots, I agree that the classic spin entry, demonstrated from straight
and level (and nose high, power off) flight is a waste of time.  A carnival ride, frankly.  

Nobody accidentally stalls or spins from straight and level cruise flight unless they 
just happen to pull or push 6 G.

If you want to help non-aerobatic pilots from becoming a spin statistic, you have to
look at where their angle of attack is at it's highest ... before landing, and after takeoff,
when their speed is of course the lowest, and ironically, their altitude is at it's lowest, too.

The infamous overshooting turn from base to final, when people like to use a heavy
inside foot to compensate for not sing enough bank, and the so-called "departure" 
stall, usually resulting from a turn to the right after takeoff.

For aerobatic pilots, spins are a normal part of flight, like turning or landing.  You can
probably get all the spin training you'll ever want by simply learning to do a really nice 
hammerhead  :-) 
 
With a bit of practice, your situational awareness increases and you can recognize
an accidental spin developing very early on - as a result of a botched maneuver - and
you can get the power off, and recover before the spin (either upright or inverted, it
really doesn't matter) has a chance to wind up into something much more interesting.
