Actually there is a great story about an event that happened in the model
airplane community some many years ago. A guy was practicing for a contest
with a new plane when he lost a wing. He flew around the circuit knife edge
several times (model planes can even loop knife edge), and then landed it by
approaching knife edge on the grass and rolling to flat just as it touched.

Numerous people witnessed it and it has gone down in model aviation circles
as the equivalent of the wing fold, fly upside down, roll upright land
incident of full scale aerobatics.

	Gentleman and ladies, I do not agree with Virginia
	that some of the stories are beer indused.  I do not
	think true aerobatic pilots would partake to the point
	where they embelish landing problems.  I think the
	problem here is "G-Loss of reality".  While I have
	never landed a Pitts, I do have a Christen Eagle. 
	Last week, while flying my sportsman secquence over a
	lake, I broke two flying wires pulling out of my
	hammerhead.  Just before the wing could fold, I
	quickly and expertly rolled the Eagle inverted and
	used the landing wires for flying wires.  I very
	colmley radioed some friends on the ground and they
	started building a soft cushion on a shallow boat
	ramp.  While waiting on the ramp and not wanting to
	waste fuel, I finished the Cuban eight, 180 deg turn,
	but cheated on the 2 point roll.  When the ramp was
	finished, I landed the Eagle inverted on the water
	using the top wing as a ski and skied the Eagle toward
	the boat ramp. While enroute to the ramp I had the
	feeling my pulse was higher than normal, so I reached
	over with my throttle hand and checked. My pulse was
	68 which is high for me.  When I got to the boat ramp,
	I carefully slid the Eagle up on the ramp then set the
	tail on the cushions with out a scratch.  The flying
	wires have been replaced and the Eagle is ready for my
	first contest at the first of June.
