A friend with a fixed pitch IO-360 has asked how much respect he needs to give the published engine redline when doing acro. Says it seems counterproductive to be reducing power when diving for maneuver speed or coming down the back side of a loop! With a CS on ours I have no experience to help and only casual advice over the years from others saying: 1. "Don't worry about overspeeds - the racing guys take these engines at least 1,000 over without harm", or 2. "When you enter the box at a contest have your prop screaming at 4,000 or whatever you can get from it". SO, looking for some advice for him from the real world. Cheers, Frank
