A tip on saving the back when lifting the tail of a Pitts.
Use a short length of 1/2" rope. Loop it around the tail wheel assembly or
spring where it won't slip. Bring both ends up and wrap them around your
forearm so that you are almost stadning up straight with your back but can
take all of the strain with you bent knees and hips. Use your hip and thigh
muscles for the lift instead of your back muscles. (Don't ask a boy to do a
man's work.) Hope this tip saves someone from straining the muscles of their
back.
