The fatal occured 7/24/02. Departed Destin, FL. Ended essentiallly straight-in, without fire in unpopulated pine forest/swamp area. Canopy not found with the plane per NTSB preliminary. No distress call to Eglin Approach with whom he was working. Witness said he was doing acro and then "looped into the ground" (we all know how reliabe they are!) reported a piece the size of an autombile's hood separated in the air. No bailout. By local newspaper accounts, owner was Delta airlines pilot living just across the bay in Niceville. You can check the Destin Log, or the Ft Walton Beach (Times?) the day after for name if you wish. Frank
