John/Paul:
Least expensive? Probably Garmin's e-Map, now on closeout sale at a Walmart near you for $169. Easily fits in your shirt or flight suit pocket. Simple one hand operation, large screen, complete USA terrain/cities map. We have followed its neat little steering arrow from Florida to Canada and all points in between. Has no airport data base but only takes a minute or two to pinpoint and select GoTo for any spot on the continent. Check it out on their excellent web site. While there (www.garmin.com), also check out the e-Trex series which will absolutely have the basic unit you are seeking. The e-trex is slightly smaller than the e-Map in length and width, but thicker in depth. Costs more too!

          Cheers, Frank
