This is to confirm what Freddy Stenbom has previously reported. Natalia
Sergeeva lost her life in a crash of the YAK-54 aircraft on Thursday, August 17,
1995.

Natalia was a respected and loved pilot on the world scene. She was the Women's
Aerobatic Champion at the WAC in Switzerland in 1990. She had also been active
in the Breitling World Cup in the past. The YAK-54 she was flying is a
relatively new aircraft .... it's an all-metal aircraft similar to the SU-29 and
had been flown at airshows beginning in 1994, though it had not really appeared
on the competition scene yet.

Apparently, Natalia did some sort of a vertical maneuver and a snap roll on the
way down, which was executed too low to recover. If I receive any other
information, I will post it on the mailing list.
