  Everyone,

I posted this note the other day, & below it is Carl Whittle's response. I
think it clears up a lot of confusion.

You are not the first to be confused by the "Official Observer". That
information pertains strictly to persons registered by and traveling with
each nations Team. It does not affect you and me. "official Observers" may
be wives, guests, sponsors, foreign dignitaries, etc., with each team. The
fee is required because WAC must provide them with a range of services,
credentials, etc.

The Bottom line rate to attend WAC is $5.00 per day, advance purchase daily
tickets. I hope this number is a little better than the one you saw in
Mike's report. And folllowing up on other e-mail's I have received on the
subject, we do not expect those persons who come at their own expense and
volunteer their time to help out to pay their way in either. In fact, we'll
probably have a little gift or two to show them our appreciation.

Our goal has been to keep it inexpensive and to encourage heavy attendance.
After all, this is the one chance most of us will have to see a WAC without
going abroad. We want everyone here to see this spectacular event.

Thanks,

Carl

The Nov. issue of Sport Aerobatics arrived today (very nice, Mike!) and one
paragraph in the Update section has raised 2 sets of eyebrows in this
household (page 6, 2nd column, middle paragraph)

"For those who wish to arrange their own accomodation, a $700 entry fee has
been established but all other amenities, including meals, will be included."

What is the charge to fly in, brown bag it & fend for ourselves? Surely, the
intent is not to charge $700.00 for that...I hope.

Respectfully,
Kathy Straub
