I am is the process of building the Falcon wing. This wing is 3/4 span
aileron, plywood leading edge and blunt trailing edge. One of the options
in the plans is to cover the wings with 1/16 plywood which allows the
internal brace to be omitted. The idea has merit, no deformation of the
airfoil, rigged wing and I would do it without additional fabric covering.

I would like to hear from who know something about this subject. I need
to know the disadvantages other than weight and what are the major
advantages. Basically I'm trying to get imput to make the decision with.

If anyone is interested I have done some other unusual things to my pitts
S1C: 3 Blade wood prop, electronic ignition, bolt on spring gear mod,
It was interesting to see that Pete Groves built a pitts with a 3 blade
wood prop also. the differance between his and mine is I have 17 laminates
per inch vs 1-2 per inch. the more laminates is supposed to help hold RPM
mors constant.

Anyone with info regarding convering wings with plywood, Please let me
know.
