Before we get buried with the bad experiences, let me get a good one in. Aurora Avionics, Aurora Airport, west of Chicago, IL. I bought an airplane that was due a static system/altimeter check. needed a floating appointment because it was October, and flyable wx and time off from work had to be sorted out. It's an S1S Pitts that I had JUST (nearly) learned to fly, so wind was a factor as well. Finally got all the ducks in a row and Kermit and the crew did a good job, reasonably priced (as quoted). He also had a hint on a radio problem that appears to be right on. The shop was recommended by my instructor, Doug Partl, and his advice on everything to do with the purchase, check-out and care/feeding of Pitts aircraft has been A-1. If you need aerobatic or check out dual in a Pitts, Doug is your CFI. Jim Klick
