    Regardless of the right answer to the question, who may participate in
the four-minute free? -- a couple of things seem obvious.
   First, pilots passionately want to fly outside the mechanical,
cookie-cutter method that IAC contests promote. And judges and spectators
want to see them do it. Surely, there are ways to accomplish this without
sacrificing safety. (Perhaps one-, two-, or three-minute frees? Higher
altitudes?)
   I, for one, would love to see the Stampe routine . . .
