  Hello!  Perhaps some of you who have been around longer than I have can
help me out with something.   In the past, a trophy was given at the IAC
Championships to the hightest placing Sportsman competitor who flew an
aircraft under 180 hp.  This award was called the A.C. Spark Plug Trophy
and was donated by A.C. Spark Plug.  At some time in the past this trophy
was discontinued.  The IAC Policy and Procedures manual (203.2) mentions
there was "no funding available" for this trophy and it's status is
listed as "Discontinued (Quality)".  The trophy was last seen in the IAC
building at Oshkosh about 2 years ago.  It's whereabouts are now unknown.
 

Can anyone help me locate this trophy?  I am interested in collecting
any history on this trophy as to when it was awarded and to whom.  Would
you as members like to see a trophy such as this reincarnated?  Does
anyone have any ideas for a sponsor for such an award?  

Please e-mail me any information regarding the history or whereabouts of
the A.C. Spark Plug Trophy and any comments you have regarding bringing
back such a trophy.
