  How thirsty is that M-14 engine?  I figure it burns about

        0.5 lb/hp/hr * 360 hp * 1 gal/ 6 lb = 30 GPH

at battle speed.  At max economy, it's somewhat less, but still in the 20+
GPH range.

(I think I can see why Mr. Pitts put such huge gas tanks in the Macho
Stinker... if memory serves correctly, that plane has 44 gallons on board!)

How does this compare to an IO-540?  Do I want one of these round things in
my Skybolt?  If necessary, I can always hang an XC tank between the feet, &
put another one in the passenger's seat, but that seems extreme.  What do
you think?
