I thought the change in advanced was approved at the March BoD meeting.

Excerpt from "Summary of Conclusions; Board of Directors Meeting; March 16-17, 1996; Howard
Johnson Hotel; Schiller Park, IL; Prepared by: Janet Hetzer, IAC Administrative Assistant" sent
to IAC Chapter 36 president, Nelson Petrey.

START EXCERPT ----

AWAC:

MOTION: made by Dick Rihn and Seconded by Bob Davis.
"Board adopt the CIVA rules for the IAC Advanced category. This will allow our Advanced Team
a better chance at the Advanced World Aerobatic Championship. However, we recommend the
lower limit of the box be retained at 800 feet for IAC competition, even though CIVA rules say
600 feet."
Motion carried unanimously.

MOTION: made by Mike Heuer and Seconded by Dick Rihn.
"For the purpose of the selection of the 1997 Advanced Aerobatic Team, that the venue for that
be the 1996 U.S. Nationals."
Motion carried unanimously.

MOTION: made by Mike Heuer and Seconded by Tom Myers.
"We recommend the U.S. Aerobatic Championship be selected on the basis of the first three
flights with a fourth flight, an unknown, be added for the purposes of team selection."
Motion carried unanimously.

MOTION: made by Mike Heuer and Seconded by Tom Myers.
"Further recommend that the Contest Director be authorized to cut the field on the fourth flight in
order to treat all categories fairly and not use up time to hurt our other categories.
Motion carried unanimously.

MOTION: made by Howie Stock and Seconded by Brian Becker.
"Recommendation to limit pilots who fly for the AWAC Team to pilots who fly aircraft acceptable
for use in AWAC Competition."
Motion carried unanimously.
