I think limiting the types of aircraft competing in the lower classes is wrong. The fact that someone may have enough money to buy a Sukhoi or Extra shouldn't preclude him from competing at a level that his skills allow. These aircraft were designed expressly to be better than their predecessors. The fact that they are, shouldn't restrict their use. As many other pilots have said, when you see one of these at the start line, it should make you want to do that much better. And Robert Armstrong is the best example of practice over money I can imagine. Making the US team flying a 2 aileron S-1 is one of the most incredible things I can think of related to acro. My original acro instructor told me a long time ago.. "There is no substitute for fuel burned" Enough said.. Doug Cronkhite
