  Yeah, it's been beat to death!  But let me just say to Rick and Dennis and
everyone else who has been coming up with suggestions on improving our sport:
don't stop!  I certainly expect to take some heat for my opinions sometime, and
in this medium it is exceptionally easy to take offense where none was intended.
Even with the nifty emoticons like <g> and :), you still can't see my face or
hear my tone of voice, and believe me, while I may disagree, I certainly mean no

I disagree with the poster who said we have a socialistic board, if the majority
of members don't like the 300k Advanced, or the current category system, I think
we can change it.  This is an excellent, and speedy medium, to spread news and
opinions, but be aware how much easier it can be to take or give offense here.

BTW, Rick, you might be interested to know that at the spring Sebring contest,
Brian Becker awarded the first Pitts Trophy for the highest scoring Pitts
aircraft, regardless of category.  The new Aviat owner, Stuart Horn, is
sponsoring this.  The idea, as I understand it, is to award these trophies at
various regional contests throughout the year, and then hold a big invitational
contest for the winners to determine the best Pitts pilot in each of the
categories reperesented!  So your idea has already been realized to some extent!
Maybe you could interest another manufacturer like the folks who make the
Decathlon to join in.  I don't think anyone will really object to having more
trophies at a contest, especially if someone outside the chapter is footing the
