Good question regarding the coming Bluff. --------------------- Forwarded message: Subj: Re: Bluff update Date: 96-05-13 18:27:54 EDT From: Stamper123 To: dierks at austin.ibm.com In a message dated 96-05-13 13:02:45 EDT, you write: >Don, do we need to bring all our stuff for a tech inspection > (insurance papers, log books, etc.) or do we just show up with > or aircraft and leave all this official contest stuff at home? Good question. You need all the normal stuff. As we noted in the original posting, the Bluff will be operated right out of the red book as though it were a normal contest. This is for three reasons: 1. It's easier. We don't really have any need nor desire to rewrite all the procedural stuff, we just want to expand our options on how to have fun. 2. It provides a backbone of safety related procedures. Our normal contest rules appear to be doing a good job of providing a safe operating environment. Any changes at this point seem unwise. 3. The waiver covering the airspace for the bluff is the same one covering the later Lone Star Regional. This waiver was written under the new "standardized" guidelines, and actually specifies that the CD is responsible for insuring that everyone is licensed, etc. Everyone please come prepared as you would for a standard contest. Anyone submitting a figure for the second unknown should have it drawn and the catalog numbers written down with K values noted. The figures must be among those specified as allowable for your respective category in the Red Book. See you there. Don PS, I was out practicing the unknown this weekend, and won't pose a threat to any "real entrants". PPS. Just kidding. Don
