A medical control said yesterday morning that Sergio Dallan has left leg's Achilles' tendon damaged. He's now back in hospital for surgical treatment. Doctor said that his left feet must be immobilized at least for 45 days, maybe more. Fortunately the situation is not grave for Sergio's health, and he will fully recover. This means that he won't fly at WAC. Thus, we downloaded his SU-31 from the container, in order to minimize risk of damage for an useless aircraft: this has been done by me and the Aero Club Milano workshop's guys in less than 2 hrs, under (armed) control of Customs since both boxex were already cleared for export. It has been an incredible effort against all odds. Now, we have lost in a single shot our best and most experienced pilot, the technical responsible for aircraft, the trainer and probably an assistant judge (Emilia Meroni is Sergio's wife). I call it black misfortune. I hope Sergio will be able to come anyway, even if he won't fly. We hardly need his competition and technical experience as well as his charismatic guide (it's his 20th EAC/WAC or so... he's the decane of Aerobatic circus together with Christian Schweizer). Hope to have better news next time. Ciao Luca Salvadori Italian Aerobatic Team
