This holiday weekend Mother Nature gave us some of the best weather we have
had in the state in a month and the best weather for the contest in a few
years. 22 competitors made the trip to Marlette. IAC Chapter 34 was well
represented with 8 pilots. One competitor, Tom Siegler, flew his Clipped
Wing Taylorcraft in from Wichita, Kansas.

We were able to complete three rounds of flights for the Advanced and
Intermediate pilots. The Sportsman and Basic pilots flew two rounds on
Saturday. A real bonus for the Basic competitors to be able to fly two flights.

IAC Chapter 88 wishes to thank all the volunteers who worked many hours on
Saturday and Sunday to help us host a successful contest. We all know that
it is these folks that make a contest work.

Thank-you,

IAC Chapter 88 Southeastern Michigan

The Pitts Cup was awarded to Brian Howard, Miamisburg, OH, IAC 34, flying
his Pitts S-2B to an 86.23%. Brian is getting real good at flying the Pitts
Cup home in his S-2B. This is his 2nd Pitts Cup award this season.
Congratulations, Brian.

The Sam Tomlinson Award went to Wayne Buescher, Canton, MI, IAC 88. The
award is given to the highest scoring percentage first time competitor. This

supporter of competition aerobatics in the Great Lakes area. With Brian
Howard as safety pilot in Brian's S-2B, Wayne flew two flights with an
83.75%. All of us wish to congratulate Wayne and we are looking forward to
seeing him in future IAC competitions.
