I think Don is on to a good idea here. You can see
the difficulty factor changing in the current proposed
knowns for Sportsman and Intermediate. The proposed
Sportsman is a lot easier than this years known. This
is good in that it will make it easier for the timid or
"competitionally challenged" Basic pilots to move up
to what they, from their perspective, is a "real" category.

Making Intermediate about 50K harder (by what ever means you
prefer) should be no problem. I'm not convinced that an
unknown in Sportsman is a good idea, but alternately, a
Sportsman competitor's option could be between a freestyle
and an unknown. The option to re-fly the known would then be
eliminated.

The point is, the interest level in Sportsman and Intermediate
sequences seem to be stagnating. Why not change things around
once in a while just to try it out? If things don't work out, change
it later. Its not like anyone's making a living off of this level of
aerobatics!
