The fastest-rolling Pitts I have flown (or seen) has: round wings Price ailerons which extend one bay inboard, with spades on the top wing longer interplane struts to take all the dihedral off the bottom wing single flying and landing wires on the rear wing spar The Price ailerons are symmetrical, well sealed and thicker than the wing section so they stand proud in the airflow at the fore edge. I think the reduced dihedral helps in starting and getting up to a high roll rate quickly, and the extra wires on the rear spar are re-assuring in view of the extra loads that must be generated. These mods were all done in the early 80's and the plane still flies Unlimited. Alan Cassidy
