The most important things about aircraft tire changes are:

1) remove the valve before splitting the wheel (otherwise you might get hurt
when the thing explodes)

2) always use proper torque wrench values when reassembling the wheel halves.
(Too loose or too tight will lead to failure which may lead to big troubles)

3) make sure the tube isn't caught up in the split between wheel halves when
reassembling.

4) inflate and deflate several times before use to be sure the tube has
expanded fully and reduce the amount of air left between the tire and the
tube.

5) check pressures after first usages to be sure all of the air between the
tube and the tire has been exhausted.

A very worthwhile monthly publication is the Lightplane Maintenance (Palm
Coast, FL.)

Best wishes

Dick Rihn
